AboutWhitt Laxson is a content strategist and TV producer at WFLA in Tampa, Florida.
Since joining WFLA in 2020, Whitt has produced the station's nationally syndicated lifestyle show Daytime. As producer, he collaborates with major brands like Disney, Busch Gardens, IHOP and more to combine sponsored content with entertainment marketing. Whitt has also produced the WFLA sports magazine series Bucs All Access, working in partnership with the NFL's Super Bowl LV champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. |
Prior to his time at WFLA, Whitt produced morning newscasts at WTVF Newschannel 5 Nashville. This put him at the center of live coverage for local and national news stories like the 2019 NFL Draft, the prison release of Cyntoia Brown and the novel coronavirus pandemic. He also worked on the daytime talk show Pickler & Ben alongside A-list celebrity talent and industry veterans from The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Whitt is a proud alum of Middle Tennessee State University, where he left his mark on the school's TV station by creating and producing the award-winning morning show The RISE. He was named Outstanding MT10 TV student for the College of Media and Entertainment and received the John Siegenthaler Journalism Award.
Outside of work, Whitt is an avid movie goer and theme park enthusiast. As big Disney fan, he's always counting down to his next Disney Parks vacation. In August of 2019, Whitt attended the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California and covered the official Disney fan event as a member of the press.
